Each time we took our new baby out wrapped in this trendy baby blanket we got so many comments on it. It is the coziest blanket…perfect for those middle of the night feedings.
"By giving AllyZabba blankets to my friend I set the standard by which all other gifts will be measured by. That’s amazing, thank you.”
Blanket Care
Our blankets are all machine washable and easy to care for. They are not delicate, but the fuzzy side is sensitive to heat–machine wash them in cold water and line dry your blanket. Never iron your blanket. Following these instructions, your blanket can be washed hundreds of times and feel just like new.
Some of our customers have had luck using their dryer with their blanket on the lowest heat setting. This works for some dryers but sometimes even the low setting can be too warm and can “melt” some of the fur on the soft side of the blanket, ruining some of it’s cozy goodness. In short, we don’t recommend it.
Why Silk?
Why do we make all of our baby blankets with a silky fabric on one side? Babies, especially newborns, love the feel of silk against their skin because it is very similar in texture to the lining of the womb. You will probably notice your baby reacting to the soft silky texture right away.
If your newborn needs some extra encouragement, we recommend letting mom use the blanket for a few hours before baby does. The familiar “smell” of mom should complete the illusion for your newborn and help them love their new blanket.
A doula wrote to us recently and said:
"You’ve got this one right. I use silky blankets with my client’s children and once the kids see the blanket they start getting sleepy. A silky blanket is the one thing I tell new parents that they actually need for their newborn.”
