It’s been an amazing year for us.  The Lord has blessed us with our second son, Corin Solomon Sztanyo.  He was born on August 2nd, and has been such a pleasure.  His big brother, Emil, loves him dearly.  And we just have to keep an eye on giving him too many hugs!  Adjusting to two boys has been challenging, but we feel incredibly blessed to have both of them in our lives.

BlanketMyBaby has had a great year as well.  We are never going to be Amazon or Wal-Mart, but we are happy doing what we do best, providing a wonderful baby blanket selection at a low cost.  More and more, our customer base has been craving personalized blankets.  So, we work hard to offer a great selection of blankets to choose from that can all have a personal touch to them.  My Blankee and Angel Dear lovies are certainly among some of our bestsellers.

As we enter into this holiday season, we just wanted to take a minute to count our blessings.  We are grateful for our boys, our health, our family, and our Lord.  We hope you take the time to stop and be thankful as well.  Don’t drive yourself crazy trying to appease everyone with all the Christmas bustle.  Take some time to enjoy the gift that God has given us – his son, Jesus.  Emmanuel, God had come to live with us.  Praise him!

Update From the Owners

Well, it’s been a while since we’ve made any personal updates on the blog, so I thought I’d take a moment to share with our BlanketMyBaby.com fans a little bit about what’s going on with us.

In the past, you’ve seen plenty of pictures of our first son, Emil.  He is doing wonderful and is the absolute joy of our life.  This past weekend, we took a trip up to Chicago.  Here’s a picture of Emil playing at Oak Street Beach.

He had an absolute blast!  It wasn’t technically his first beach, but the first beach he got to play in the waves in for a bit.  Emil seems to be learning new words every day.  He absolutely loves Elmo.  Though, Mickey Mouse has made a strong surge of late.  He can sing “Hot dog, hot dog, hot diggity dog!” with the best of them.  Emil will be turning 2 in September, and he is growing up so fast.  That’s good, because he has to learn how to be a big brother!

We are expecting our second child in late July.  I can’t believe we haven’t posted that yet on the blog, but it’s been a crazy few months.  We feel tremendously blessed to have another child on the way.  The psalmist puts it this way in Psalm 127:

offspring a reward from him.

are children born in one’s youth.
⁵ Blessed is the man
whose quiver is full of them.
They will not be put to shame

Amen!  We cannot wait to meet this second blessing!  Just like our first birth, we are going to be surprised on the gender of the baby.  Both Mom and Dad like waiting.  The only problem is that we have to pick out two names, which does not seem to be an easy task for us.  One thing we know is that this baby will have plenty of love from his family, and just like Emil, plenty of baby blankets too!

Summer in Seattle

My wife, Emil and I have spent the last three weeks in Seattle, and it has been amazing.  We have never been to the Pacific Northwest before, and we have just been soaking it all in.  Fortunately, we’ve been able to stay with some amazing friends out here.  They have been tremendous hosts and have pointed to all the great things there are to do out in this wonderful playland.  A brief list of the attractions we have attended:

We’ve definitely been making the rounds.  And even better than all the sites has been hanging out with the other families out here.  It’s strange in a place like Seattle, where there are actually more dogs than kids.  When we take Emil out in public, we get a lot of weird looks, but no one ever looks down at a dog.  Funny.  And our friends have 8 kids among them, so it’s a bit counter-cultural.  To us though, it’s been an amazing learning experience to be around these families who have a passion and a vision for their family, love their kids, build businesses and serve the Lord.
