Summertime Summertime!

June 20th, 2010

Summertime is here!  We just got back from a trip to California for our Babymoon (probably more pictures and stories to come), and then back to the Cincinnati climate.  What does that mean?  Humidity!  And lots of it!  You can bank on 90 degree weather with humidity this time of year and every year in the Ohio river valley.  So, it doesn’t take long to go running for shade, air conditioning and a pool.

But what does this mean for your baby?  For a baby, it’s very important to stay cool.  If you take your baby outside, make sure you put on proper sunscreen care.  And at night, a hot baby is a fussy baby.  So, one idea is to use blankets that are lightweight and breathable.  Our bestselling blankets by aden + anais are perfect for this job.  The lightweight muslin is breathable and doesn’t make your baby sweat like a heavy cotton blanket.  Combine these blankets with a cool room and you and your baby can sleep well even in the summer time.

Well, even though it’s hot, try to enjoy.  Drink some lemonade.  Take a walk with the stroller at night.  If you don’t have a pool, a hose and a sprinkler work just as well.  Enjoy the summer.  Stay cool.  Drink your fluids and love those babies!
